Vinăria Poiana își propune să valorifice resursele naturale unice din zona codrilor.
The heart of the woods is our home, that’s why – day by day – we capitalize on the unique natural resources in this area! Since the beginning of our activity, encouraged by the Town Halls of the villages of Ulmu and Horodca, we have created an area delimited by “Eco Areal” – where we implement sustainable grape cultivation practices. Here, the vine is cultivated as in the old days, when man’s work sanctifies the place and takes care of the entire vineyard. The Poiana winery continues to exploit the natural resources of the Codrilor area, which are unique and of particular importance, and the vineyards, year after year, give us quality grapes, prepared to later become emblematic wines.
The story of Poiana Winery begins in 2003, when – the first vine cuttings were planted. Also then – the first fruits gave birth to the Ulmu range.
The course of this range of wines – Ulmu was and remains a successful one for us. At the same time, the success – since the first year of harvest – led to the start of the “Poiana Winery” project.
14 years later – being equipped with modern wine production technologies, based only on high quality standards and having a unique restaurant with an impressive panorama and more than that – a location that promotes local products and Moldovan traditions – in 2017 , Poiana Winery opens its doors for the long-awaited guests.
The charm of these places has captivated people since ancient times. The Moldavian director himself – Emil Loteanu – the author of the film “A tent goes up to the sky” – filmed the very place, where today, the grapes grow in the vineyards of the Poiana Winery. Inspired by this corner of heaven, managing to offer people a symbol of Moldovan cinema.
Moreover, 3 monasteries are located in the region, the beauty of which attracts more and more tourists. Also on these picturesque lands – the waters of the Botna River have their source.
Since then, the winery has become the place where people come to admire, enjoy and leave behind, the memory of a special, different and unique location.
Ce semnificație are simbolul Cerbului Nobil?
The Ulmu vineyard has always been a place of sun, people and grapes. Here, the living woods and glades hide among the flowers and scents, unheard legends and histories, which people come to hear from all over the world. One of them is the legend of the Poiana Winery.
Once, on a rich and golden autumn day, here, among the rows of Ulmu vines, came a great and noble deer. It smelled so wonderful all around,
so that the deer could not resist the temptation and began to eat the juicy and sweet grapes.
Enchanted by the fine taste of the grapes, the stag caught his horns in the vines, and when he let go, this was impossible for him.
After a long time and countless trials, his moan reached the people who were picking the ripe grapes far, far away.
They all gathered around him, amazed at this visitor of rare beauty, and carefully released him by giving him grapes to eat from their hands. Then she made her way through the crowd and ran towards the woods. But the most beautiful thing was going to happen right then.
The stag stopped at the edge of the vineyard and in gratitude, turned around
looking at the people, looking at them for a long time, then disappeared. Since then, the face of the noble deer has become the symbol of this place, taking the name Poiana Codrilor.
